Attacking brilliance from Brunel University saw them extend their an unbeaten run at home to 32 games, as they ran in nine tries - though they did have to see off an OPs comeback.
Brunel scored in the first minute having been successful with a 50-22 from kick off, winning the lineout and playing the phases to ease over the line ; they showed further proficiency to get a second try, working the ball quickly from the scrum and piercing the defence with a move straight from the training ground.
The hosts raced to a bonus point with just 20 minutes played as 14-0 became 28-0, a potential drubbing in the offing. However, OPs were given an in through Brunel's propensity to give away penalties in dangerous areas, the Twisters kicking to the corner then driving for the line, hooker Rhodri Darwent getting his first 1st XV try after being able to touch down.
A number of injury stoppages broke the pattern of play and Priorians did well to hold Brunel out until the 37th minute when they went over for their fifth of the afternoon, a strong break too much for the backline to deal with - 35-7 to Brunel at half time.
The league newcomers further ran away with proceedings minutes in the second half despite some dubious play off the ball, yet this appeared to be the catalyst for the best period of play for OPRFC.
As the Brunel penalties began to pile up, OPs took their chances to advance down the pitch. A quick tap from Harry Lyons went to the hands of Mishka Fibbens who was impossible to stop from short range, Michael Jobling converting his second of the day to move the Twisters into double figures.
The scoring didn't stop there as the Uxbridge outfit experience a mini-collapse, Cathal Sheehan making it four for the season on 55 minutes, then nearly grabbing a brace only to be denied by a high tackle which was rightfully punished with a penalty try and sin bin against Brunel ; at 40-28 with twenty minutes to go, there was plenty of potential for a sensational Priorians comeback.
All hopes were eventually dashed, however, as Brunel dominated the last quarter and scored another nineteen points to put some extra sheen on the scoreline as bodies tired and tackling became more ragged, 59-28 the final score at the University Sports Park.
There is no denying that the home side deserved the victory, especially given their remarkable prowess going forward. Yet, they still found themselves exposed in defence, allowing OPs to secure a try bonus point and may well face sterner tests as the season progresses.
OPRFC head to Marlow in two weeks in the next round of fixtures.
