The fifth round of fixtures in Regional 2 Thames is now complete - let's review this weekend's action.
Belsize Park 48-19 Teddington
Belsize Park ended Teddington's 100% winning start to the season to extend their own run to five games with a big win in Regent's Park.
It gives Belsize a five point cushion at the top of the league, having taken maximum points fom all their fixtures so far with Brunel Uni having a game in hand, also against Teddington, who are now in fifth place with 15 points.
Brunel University 59-16 Aylesbury
Brunel continued to prove their credentials as promotion favourites as they ran in nine tries against Aylesbury in an occasionally bad tempered affair in Uxbridge.
Aylesbury had actually taken an early lead through Alex Shearer's fourth minute penalty but soon found themselves trailing through Brunel's irresistible attack ; yellow cards were given late in the first half to both sides but Brunel were then able to motor away and record their third half century of points this season.
It was also Aylesbury's first loss of the season, which seems them in fourth position, Brunel University in second with the aforementioned game in hand.
Harpenden 29-46 Beaconsfield
Harpenden's difficult start to life at Level 6 continues as Beaconsfield pulled away in the latter stages for a fourth win on the bounce.
The hosts were leading up until the final quarter but their Buckinghamshire opponents had enough strength to record a handsome victory on the road ; this puts Beaconsfield in early season playoff contention, accuring 20 points from their first five games while Harpenden are in seventh, gaining a try bonus point to move on to 11 points.
London Irish Wild Geese 17-26 Windsor
Windsor got their first win of the season as they beat London Irish in Sunbury, Irish still looking for their first victory in the new campaign following a level transfer.
Despite the loss, Irish still remain above Windsor in the table thanks to the bonus points they have picked up in the first four games and are 10th ; Windsor are just below with 6 points in 11th.
Marlow 12-32 OPRFC
Tom Batt's try in the last play of the game saw OPs take all five points home from Riverwoods Drive, largely dominating the 80 minutes to beat Marlow.
An entertaining first half saw five tries, with Batt, Cathal Sheehan and Ethan Wetherell all crossing for the Twisters, Marlow scoring two of their own to make it 19-12 at half time. Will Taylor kept the scoreboard ticking over for Priorians before Batt's late heroics made sure of the win.
It means OPRFC are now in 6th with 12 points, Marlow in 8th with 10 points.
Oxford Harlequins II 29-52 Grasshoppers
The highest scoring match of the weekend came at Oxford, Grasshoppers bouncing back from last week's defeat at home and putting in an excellent last 30 minutes performance to secure the points.
Grasshoppers led 19-10 at the break via tries from Chris Brown, Bade Ashimi and Jack Dyer, yet Quins were able to move into a 22-19 lead early on in the second half - only for the visitors to score 33 unanswered points, a terrific response, Brown getting a hat trick in the process.
Their first win since the opening day, Hoppers have some breathing room in 9th place on 10 points, Oxford now rooted to the bottom of the table with 4 points having managed to earn a try bonus point themselves.
That concludes the round up. For all results and fixtures, please visit the RFU website :
