Broadly speaking a West London rival, Grasshoppers were founded in 1950, with their first ground just over a mile from St Benedict's Playing Fields, on Greenford Avenue. Leading a somewhat nomadic existence, they then moved to Richmond Park, before a move to MacFarlane Lane in Osterley, eventually settling at their stunning facility in Syon Lane in 2018.
They currently run four senior men's team including a Vets, as well as a full youth section across the genders.
Grasshoppers have worked their way up from the old London 2 North West to the new Regional 2 Thames - achieving promotion in 2022/23 - and had their best finish ever last season, accruing 54 points and ending up sixth in the league.
Old Priorians and Grasshoppers have played each other five times previously in the league, with OPs holding a record of four wins to one, though the Grasshoppers win came in their most recent meeting last December, a 29-28 victory at Perivale. The average full time score is 43-22 to OPRFC.
