Old Priorians have appointed the captains for the 1st and 2nd XV for the 2025/26 season, with Cathal Sheehan and Cian McBride leading the Twisters and Saints respectively.
Predominantly playing in the back row, Cathal made his club debut for OPs in 2022, and has gone on to make thirty appearances for the club, which includes 19 tries in 25 appearances for the 1st XV. Also a former captain of St Benedict's School, Sheehan was one of last year's vice-captains for the Twisters.
Stepping into a VC role will be scrum-half Rory Gaffney, who joined OPRFC midway through the 2024/25 season, having previously played for National 2 League North side Otley as well as the likes of Galwegians in Ireland ; he has also represented Yorkshire in the County Championship. He will also form part of the 1st XV staff as backs coach.
Cian McBride - a versatile back who typically dons the number 10 jersey - takes up the captain's armband for the 2nd XV for the new season, having already served in the role in previous campaigns. Cian has made 106 appearances in his time at Perivale, helping guide the Saints back to promotion from Middlesex Merit Table Division 2 in 2021/22 back to Division 1 where they remain to this day.
Samuel Green continues as 2nd XV vice-captain and will now share duties with Liam Munro, both players having been part of the Division 2 winning season and regulars for the club since.
