Old Priorians ran in thirteen tries against Grasshoppers to record their biggest win of the season and maintain their playoff charge, as relegation worries grow for their West London rivals in Regional 2 Thames.

On a sunny afternoon at Wasps FC, the procession began with Funbi Osuntoki's early effort, carrying the ball over the line following a penalty ; Grasshoppers were able to hit back quickly through Chris Brown's score out wide, but it was then that the Twisters began to motor away from their Osterley opposition. Osuntoki made it a double and his fifth of the campaign, as Messrs Taylor, Jobling, Braddock and Paxman all went over before half time to establish a 38-5 lead at the break, Taylor converting four of the six tries to add to his tally.

Perhaps the pick of the tries came towards the start of the second 40 minutes, Kimen Nyam's break down the middle setting up second row Stefan Tsang for his first 1st XV try, cantering in from near the halfway line, Taylor once again able to add the two points ; Grasshoppers did pull another back through another try out wide, this time via Matt Coakley, but were then subject to a flurry of tries from the likes of Charlie Harte, Raphael Mutu (who joined Osuntoki by scoring twice), Guy Djedje and James Paxman, the last of these also getting a brace for the day.

Grasshoppers did manage a third try through captain Rohan Love, but OPs had the final word as Ethan Wetherell broke through the line to cross the whitewash, Harte converting the final points of the day to make it 79-19 at full time.

Priorians extend their unbeaten streak in 2026 to four games and this can be considered a statement win in their search for a playoff place, sitting eleven points clear of fifth place Teddington and sixteen of sixth place Aylesbury, meaning - in effect - they need two more victories to be sure of the post season knockouts ; they have also secured level 6 rugby for another season with this win.

There is now a two week break before a stern test awaits at home to Beaconsfield.
