Old Priorians extended their unbeaten run to six games as they took the points home in a thriller against Beaconsfield, 48-39 the final score, Tomek Tsang scoring four tries to inspire his side to victory.
The Twisters made a perfect start, Michael Jobling's scything break from a return kick setting Tsang up to score within 60 seconds, Uribe converting from in front of the posts.
They then doubled their lead five minutes later via a rolling maul (grounded by Ben Ridley) before Beaconsfield immediately hit back, going wide with their rapid winger skinning the defence.
Muddy conditions clearly proved no deterrent to running rugby and the scoreboard continued to tick over, Uribe adding a penalty for OPs, followed by a second try for the hosts on the other wing, 17-10 to OPRFC with just 20 minutes played.
Beaconsfield slotted another three points ten metres inside opposition territory on the half hour to reduce the less further, only to see Tsang go over once more soon after, a classic Conor Dolan run setting the foundation.
Priorians continued to press late in the half but an excellent turnover by Beaconsfield in their own 22 allowed them a chance to counter, a superb move that crossed from coast to coast and finished by their winger. A kick in front of goal was easily taken, 24-20 to Old Priorians at half time.
Tsang completed his hat trick early on in the second half, another rolling maul providing a platform for the backs as the centre danced between defenders to earn a bonus point, Uribe's excellent form from the boot continuing to add the extras.
With play levelling out, Beaconsfield appeared to seize control of the momentum and were set for a try in the corner, only for Tsang to intercept and run 90 metres for a fourth and inarguably the pick of the afternoon's tries. More on the board via Uribe and the Twisters took command at 38-20, though with plenty of time left.
A yellow card to Ridley not long after the restart put some pressure on the visitors, a period that yielded fourteen points for Beaconsfield who may well gave sensed a comeback.
Returned to full complement, OPs were able to exact a measure of control, retaining possession and forcing a kickable penalty for Uribe that was ultimately successful as the match entered the last ten minutes.
Seven points ahead was never likely to be enough to remain secure despite the dwindling of minutes on the clock ; a missed kick to touch from the mark by the home side set a move in motion for Priorians, Tsang's kick into the backfield provided more than a degree of danger that Beaconsfield were able to deal with. Another Dolan carry was coupled with good support from Luis Gomez-Rose, diving across the line to give much needed breathing space as the two points were successfully added.
Yet, there was enough time for Beaconsfield to stage a late siege on the OPRFC line, a try out wide needing to be converted for a losing bonus point. The kick was missed, giving the Twisters a 48-39 victory.
An excellent game of rugby by all accounts, it was clear to see why the two sides came into the match as the two form teams in the division. While Tsang was undoubtedly the spur that influenced the result, Uribe's accuracy from the boot proved crucial, along the team's endeavour across the 80 minutes, especially in attack.
