The London 2 North West season came to a close this weekend, let's take a look at what happened across the league.
Fullerians 31-33 Grasshoppers
Another thrilling win for Grasshoppers, who came from 21-7 down at half time, George Stanton scoring what turned out to be the winning try.
A double for Fullerians Number 8, George Harvey, appeared to give the home side control of the tie heading into the break but tries from Louis Brown, Josh Harpur and Tom Orishaguna turned the match on its head. James Maher gave Fullers hope on 64 minutes before Stanton made sure of an away win in the 69th, Grasshoppers ending the season on a high, justified reward for their attacking style of rugby.
FINAL POSITIONS : Fullerians - 4th (72 points), Grasshoppers - 6th (58 points)
H.A.C v Datchworth - Home Walkover
Unfortunately Datchworth were unable to fulfil this fixture, so a home walkover was awarded to H.A.C, further consolidating top spot and taking them past the 100 point barrier for 2021/22.
Datchworth, meanwhile, end the campaign at the bottom of the table, having mustered only three wins all season, with an 89 point difference between them and the champions.
FINAL POSITIONS : H.A.C - 1st (104 points), Datchworth - 12th (15 points)
Hackney 15-6 Hemel Hempstead
A low scoring affair at Spring Hill, but Hackney will be happy with a final day win. The first points coming as late as the 56th minute through a penalty for the home side, Hemel briefly took the lead through two penalties of their own, before late tries for Hackney put them ahead, a lead they did not surrender.
Encouraging signs for Hackney, who won two of their last three fixtures, with Hemel Hempstead winning one in the same period.
FINAL POSITIONS : Hackney - 11th (23 points), Hemel Hempstead - 7th (48 points)
Letchworth Garden City 26-22 Old Priorians
Letchworth took second spot after defeating third placed OPs at Legends Lane, preserving their perfect home record for the season.
The sides went into the break level at 19-19. The Twisters had gone two tries ahead before the half hour, but Harvey Browne pulled it back minutes later. Arun Johal levelled the tie five minutes later, followed by a try for Luke Campbell to put Letchworth ahead. The Twisters managed to level again before the break.
Michael Waters went over for what turned out to be the winning score though Ari Goualin was able to salvage pride with a penalty.
FINAL POSITIONS : Letchworth Garden City - 2nd (97 points), OPRFC - 3rd (89 points)
Old Streetonians 41-21 Hampstead
Old Streetonians continued their excellent late season form to secure a big win over Hampstead on Hackney Marshes, running out 41-21 winners in the process.
A very decent campaign for the home side who finish fifth, with Hampstead ending in tenth.
FINAL POSITIONS : Old Streetonians - 5th (66 points), Hampstead - 10th (31 points)
Ruislip 20-20 Enfield Ignatians
The first (and last) drawn fixture in London 2 North West came at West End Lane, with Ruislip and Enfield Ignatians sharing the spoils.
All but three of the points came in the first half, Enfield going in to the break 20-17 ahead, despite being 14-3 down at one juncture. Tries from Jonny Dixon, Dan Birbeck and Alex McCall helped seal the win, with 5 points from the boot of Jake Bates proving to be a vital difference.
Both teams finish on 40 points, Ruislip snatching 8th by virtue of points scored.
FINAL POSITIONS : Ruislip - 8th (40 points), Enfield Ignatians - 9th (40 points)
It is worth noting that due to league restructure, the bottom three - Hampstead, Hackney and Datchworth - are likely to avoid relegation, though this is to be confirmed.
H.A.C, Letchworth Garden City and OPRFC are all promoted to London 1.
