Old Priorians back Matt Ilube has been selected for Nigeria as part of a provisional 43 man squad, as they compete in the Africa Cup Repechage taking place in Tunisia during December.

Ilube - who has already represented Nigeria in international Sevens competitions - will now have the chance to gain full XV honours for his nation, where they will play Tunisia (the hosts of the tournament) in the Semi-Final of Repechage B at the Jemmel Stadium in Jemmal.

A victory for Nigeria will then see them play either Ghana or Zambia in the Repechage B Final, with the winner advancing to the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup, which is due to be held in Uganda and acts as a pathway for the 2027 Men's Rugby World Cup.

Nigeria currently sit 69th in the world rankings with their semi-final opponents 22 places above them in 47th, while Zambia & Ghana are 68th and 87th respectively. The tournament fixtures are due to be played between the 18th and 22nd December, with a training camp for the squad taking place in Abuja from the 10th December.
